Bellator 200’s Linton Vassell talks Phil Davis, HW Tournament Offer & Pro-Wrestling

Linton Vassell returns to action in just a few short weeks at Bellator 200, facing former Bellator Light Heavyweight Champion Phil Davis.

The light heavyweight contender isn’t just fighting on a historical card, but he is also fighting in his home country.

“I love going back to my home country and fighting in front of the people, its totally different than fighting over in the states. I can’t wait…its a big fight, Bellator 200 against Phil Davis. I’m here to make a statement…definitely,” Vassell said in an exclusive interview with Fightful’s James Lynch.

Vassell has previously fought four bouts against either former or current Bellator MMA Light Heavyweight Champions, holding a record of 2-2-0 in those encounters.

If it were up to Vassell, it is going to be a very bad night for Davis at Bellator 200.

“I’m gonna finish him, I’m gonna be the guy to finish him. You don’t know how ready I am, words can’t described how pumped and ready I am for this fight. I’m gonna make a statement, I’m not going to go out like I did in the (Ryan) Bader fight. He beat me, but I don’t lose like that. I’ve got some vengeance to come and unfortunately Phil Davis is going to be the guy to receive it, I want that title and I’m not f*cking around. I’m coming in to bring the heat and I’m gonna smash him up,” says Vassell.

Bellator 200 takes place on Friday, May 24 from the SSE Arena in London, England with Roy Nelson and Mirko Cro Cop headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs via tape delay on the Paramount Network.
