Belal Muhammad Tired Of Colby Covington’s Trash Talking

Belal Muhammad picked up a decision victory over Tim Means on the main card of this past weekend’s UFC Fight Night Sydney event.

The welterweight called out Colby Covington after the event because he is tired of hearing the fighter’s trash talking.

“I got a lot of Brazilian fans, a lot of Brazilian friends. My coach is Brazilian,” Muhammad said to MMA Junkie. “When you disrespect the whole country like that, and it’s not even in a good way. You have like fifth-grade trash-talk. So it’s not even good trash-talk. It’s just being ignorant for no reason. When people talk like that, they deserve to get slapped. And I’m the guy to do the slapping.”

Covington has been at the center of controversy ever since calling Brazilian people “filthy animals” at UFC Fight Night Sao Paulo. Muhammad would even get right back into training camp so he could fight Covington this December at UFC 219.

“I just want to get a top-15 guy, hopefully Colby Covington,” Muhammad said. “He’s sitting on the sidelines begging (UFC champion Tyron) Woodley for a fight, but Woodley’s hurt. So, there’s nobody else for him to fight. All these other guys are already booked. Colby Covington needs an opponent. I’m here, December 30th, let’s do it. What’s up?”

The controversial has yet to respond to Muhammad’s challenge, but he his also recovering at this time from allegedly being assaulted by Fabricio Werdum and his might boomerang.

Muhammad spoke to Fightful just two weeks ago about Colby Covington.
