Askar Askarov Sends Message To Dana White: “I’m Ready To Take The Belt,” More News | Social Media Roundup

UFC flyweight contender Askar Askarov has sent a message to Dana White saying “I’m ready to take the belt” — this and much more on Tuesday’s social media roundup.

Askar Askarov calls for a title shot next

After putting on a very impressive and dominant performance over UFC veteran Joseph Benavidez at UFC 259, UFC flyweight contender Askar Askarov has sent a message to the UFC president Dana White calling for a title shot next.

Askarov is undefeated and has already been in there with the man who will challenge for the flyweight title in the next few months, Brandon Moreno. Askarov and Moreno fought to a closely contested draw and Askarov wants to fight for the belt next against the winner of Figueiredo vs Moreno 2.

Askarov sent a message to White on Twitter.

If Askarov was to challenge for the title next that would be a big landmark in MMA history as Askarov would be the first-ever Paralympic UFC title challenger. Askarov was born deaf but his hearing has slightly improved since, to the point where he can hear only around 20% of the sounds which most people can.

Askarov won a gold medal in the 2017 Deaflympics in the category of men’s freestyle wrestling.
