Arjan Bhullar is ready to conquer the world of pro wrestling.
Bhullar captured the ONE Heavyweight Championship at ONE Championship: Dangal on May 15, stopping former UFC contender Brandon Vera in the second round. After the bout, Bhullar put the wrestling world on notice by calling out both WWE and AEW.
Speaking to ESPN, Bhullar revealed he has it in his ONE contract that he can enter the world of wrestling while still competing for ONE.
“It’s (pro wrestling) something we talked about before signing. I had it written into my contract. It was something One agreed with. They wanted to create superheroes. That’s what I want to do too. I’ve always loved pro wrestling. As a kid you see a full stadium, you see these superheroes doing incredible things. I’ve always loved that. Whether it’s the Olympics, MMA, or pro wrestling. It’s the same visual so I connect with it,” he said.
Bhullar has a famous friend in WWE, former WWE Champion Jinder Mahal, who was supposed to accompany him to the cage at UFC 215 but Mahal, unfortunately, couldn’t make the event due to a hurricane.
“I’ve already trained with Jinder in the past. I feel like if I put my mind to it, I can do it. I will do both absolutely. No one has done both sports at the same time. I want to be the first,” he says.
It is unknown if Bhullar will eventually make the transition to WWE or AEW.
