Anthony Pettis Returning To Lightweight At UFC 213

Former UFC Lightweight Champion Anthony Pettis (#6 FW) will return to the lightweight division at UFC 213, where he is taking on Jim Miller.

Pettis (19-6-0) is competing for the first time since losing an interim featherweight title fight to Max Holloway at UFC 206. Pettis has only won just one of his last five fights, with those four losses coming to the aforementioned Holloway, Rafael Dos Anjos, Edson Barboza and Eddie Alvarez. Pettis is a former UFC Lightweight Champion, defeating Ben Henderson by submission to win the gold at UFC 164.

Miller (28-9-0-1NC) has won three of his last four fights under the UFC banner, those three wins have come over Takanori Gomi, Joe Lauzon and Thiago Alves. Miller has only fought just one past UFC champion during his time in the promotion, dropping a decision to former lightweight champion Ben Henderson at UFC On Versus 5. Miller is currently winless in 2017, having dropped a fight to Dustin Poirier via decision at UFC 208 in February.

UFC 213 takes place on Saturday, July 8 from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada with no main event announced at this time. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
