Angela Magana Returns To Action At UFC 218
A women’s division affair has been added to the upcoming UFC 218 card as Angela Magana is going to be in action against Amanda Bobby Cooper.
It was Cooper who announced the fight via Instagram:
Magana (11-8-0) is returning to action for the first time in over two years and the fighter hasn’t earned a victory in well over six years. Magana competed on the UFC Ultimate Fighter 20, losing in the opening round of the reality show to Aisling Daly. Magana’s last win came in August of 2011, because she defeated Avery Vilche at a Clash In The Rockies event.
Magana is perhaps best known for her altercation with Cris Cyborg earlier this year that resulted in her being punched in the face during the UFC Fighter Retreat.
Cooper (2-3-0) has won just one of three fights under the UFC banner, with that lone win coming over Anna Elmose at UFC Fight Night 99. Cooper made it to the finals of the UFC Ultimate Fighter 23, but was submitted by Tatiana Suarez in that final fight. Cooper’ only other win as a professional MMA fighter came over Brittany Dugas at a King Of The Cage event in February 2014.
UFC 218 takes place on Saturday, December 2 from the Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, Michigan with no main event announced at this time. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
