Last month, boxer Amir Khan stated unlike Floyd Mayweather, he would come to the UFC to fight Conor McGregor. The British-born boxer also said he would only need one year of training of mixed martial arts which was then shortened to six months to be ready for the featherweight champion.
“I’m a little different in that sense, where I would get into a cage and I would fight in MMA rules, so that’s the difference between me and Mayweather,” Khan told Flo Combat. “I would definitely give it a go. It’s something to learn, as well. I’m at that age where I’m still learning, adapting and getting better. So I still have time under me as well. I’m still a young lad and got loads left in me.”
Khan is a minority in the MMA promotion, Super Fight League, which is based in India. After watching McGregor win the rematch against Nate Diaz at UFC 202 on Saturday night, the Olympic Silver Medalist sent out a message on Twitter praising the Irishman and then telling him to reach out to him soon.

During his post-fight press conference, McGregor discussed having a lot options going forward and some might not be in the UFC, which fuels the fire of a possible Khan showdown or the much discussed match against Mayweather.
Khan last fought in May, losing by sixth round knockout to Canelo Alvarez. He doesn’t have a fight scheduled at this time.
