Aljamain Sterling Wants A Rematch With Marlon Moraes
Aljamain Sterling is currently riding a three fight winning streak, having defeated the trio of Brett Johns, Cody Stamann and Jimmie Rivera.
Before that winning streak began, a surging Sterling suffered a brutal first round knockout loss via knee strike to the face from former WSOF Bantamweight Champion Marlon Moraes at UFC Fight Night Fresno.
Sterling would now like to avenge that last loss, as he called out Moraes via Twitter:
Since @TJDillashaw is gonna be all tied up again at 125 lbs or 135 lbs, with @HenryCejudo. Why don’t we run it back? @MMARLONMORAES
They might not fight until IFW in July. November/December is a looooong time to wait to fight again. #JustSaying #LetsStayBusy #NoMoreDabbing @UFC— Aljamain Sterling (@FunkMaster_UFC) March 4, 2019
Moraes, since that victory over Sterling, has gone onto pickup victories over the duo of the aforementioned Jimmie Rivera and Raphael Assuncao, with the Assuncao fight also serving as a rematch from Moreas’ UFC debut.
There has been no response yet from Moraes as to the challenge laid out by Sterling, but Moreas is #1 in the UFC Bantamweight Divisions rankings, while Sterling is sitting at #3.
