Ali Abdelaziz Says Khabib Nurmagomedov vs. Conor McGregor II Will Only Happen On The Streets

UFC Lightweight Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov defends the gold against former UFC Interim Lightweight Champion Tony Ferguson in the main event of UFC 249.

A second bout between Nurmagomedov and former two division UFC champion Conor McGregor could reportedly be happening after UFC 249, but Nurmagomedov’s agent in Ali Abdelaziz says a second fight will happen only if it happens on the streets.

“The only chance this fight could happen is in the street,” Abdelaziz said to Marc Raimondi of ESPN. “[McGregor would] have to do something spectacular. He’s s—, you understand? Conor McGregor is one of the biggest stars because he’s one of the biggest scumbags.”

Nurmagomedov and McGregor met for the first time at UFC 229, with Nurmagomedov scoring a fourth round submission win on that night.

The situation became real personal between Nurmagomedov and McGregor in the build to UFC 229 and Abdelaziz says problems will always exist between the two in the future.

“Let’s be real,” Abdelaziz said. “We don’t like this guy. We’re never gonna like him. Probably every time we see him, there’s gonna be problems. He said things about family, things about religion, things about race. He crossed the line. … You can’t cross the line with [Nurmagomedov].”

UFC 249 takes place on Saturday, April 18 from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York with Khabib Nurmagomedov and Tony Ferguson headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
