ACB 91 Event Canceled, Brad Pickett Still Intends To Come Out Of Retirement

Former UFC fighter Brad Pickett recently announced that he was coming out of retirement to compete at Absolute Championship Berkut 91 this August.

There is a hitch to the plan by Pickett in that ACB officials have decided to cancel the event.

The promotion made the following announcement through Instagram:

ACB 91 is cancelled. ACB 91, which was set to take place in London on August 11th, is cancelled due to technical problems so at this point hosting the event is not possible. All of the fights, that were announced for the card will be rescheduled for the closest ACB events. All the money from ticket sales for this event will be returned in full to the buyers. ACB sincerely apologizes to fans for any inconvenience.

Pickett may be undeterred by the event cancellation, as he plans on fighting, with or without ACB 91 as the place for the UFC veteran’s return bout.

“Coming out of retirement was a big decision for me to make,” said Pickett to MMA Fighting. “I signed a multi-fight deal with ACB. Obviously, I’m still gutted that I won’t get an opportunity to return in front of my hometown fans. That being said, I still plan to make my return on a different ACB show, in a different location.”

There is no word yet on when Pickett will return to action, but it would most certainly be under the ACB banner since the fighter is under contract to them.
