21 Children Removed From Fight Club In China
Pear Video uploaded a short documentary on Youtube this past Summer showing young boys training at the Enbo Fight Club in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, China. The video sparked outrage in the country because the young kids are being paid to train and fight each other in MMA bouts.
Since the video was released, authorities in both Sichuan and Liangshan have raided the club twice, with the first time coming in July. During that July raid, authorities only removed two children who were adopted by the club and the the authorities recently returned and 19 more adopted or left behind children were removed from the club.
This is all according to reports from China.org and the South China Morning Post.
The authorities aren’t just removing the children from the club, but they are returning them to their home towns and ensuring that they are admitted into the local school systems.
Reports out of China also state that the club never formally signed any adoption papers for any of the children they supposedly adopted and none of the adults that work at the club had any kind of teaching certificates.
En Bo, who run the Enbo Fight Club, is stating that none of the children were abused during their time there and he has spent a lot of money caring for the children. However, reports also suggested that the funds supposedly spent on the kids were from sponsorship deals arranged by the club in regards to the kids fighting.
Even though 21 kids have been removed from the club, it is unknown at this time just how many more kids remain there.
