Will Tommy Fury Give The Boxing World An Explanation

Tommy Fury could have closed the door for good on Jake Paul’s time in the boxing industry but he’s ended up opening the door for the YouTuber even wider than ever after pulling out of their fight. Some might say that Fury had no other option after the former Love Island star cited the fact that he had to cancel due to a chest infection as well as a broken rib.
Instead, Paul will now go up against Tyron Woodley after the former UFC welterweight champion agreed to step in at the eleventh hour on behalf of Fury. Now, if you bet on boxing with Betfair you will see a host of upcoming odds for future fights and on this occasion, those future prices heavily favor Paul to beat Woodley for a second time.
Indeed, as things stand, the most up-to-date boxing tips tonight and even going forward don’t foresee any chance that Woodley will win. In essence, this means that Jake Paul will extend his stay in the boxing industry for at least another year.
Breaking: Jake Paul announced on Twitter that Tyron Woodley has accepted a rematch on Dec. 18 after Tommy Fury dropped out of the fight for medical reasons.

That may or may not be a problem for you, it will naturally come down to what your thoughts on Paul are but there is growing reason to suspect that the 24-year-old YouTuber is, to some degree, pulling the wool over our eyes. At least, it was former MMA man Dillon Danis who recently suggested this was the case after claiming that Woodley wasn’t contractually allowed to not knock Paul out during their first fight. This perhaps explains why Woodley backed off considerably every time he had Paul on the ropes during their match-up in August.
Unsurprisingly, Paul has vehemently denied what Danis has said and it’s important to hear both sides out before making a final judgment. Still, even if we were to be extremely generous and give Paul the benefit of the doubt on this occasion, there is still an unsettling feeling that all is not what it seems with the YouTuber.
This is why Tommy Fury owes the world of boxing a better explanation as to what went on during his training camp that ultimately stopped him from arriving in Las Vegas to put an end to the Jake Paul roadshow. We know that John Fury, Tommy’s father has said that an unnamed man who weighed 17 stone punched Tommy during practice sparring and that’s the reason for the cancellation but once again, Fury senior’s explanation is light on details.
Whilst Jake enjoys afternoons in the arcade playing dance mat with his side ting…. I thought I’d take 5 minutes out from the best camp of my life to say NOTHING can save you now. DECEMBER 18th, you’ll see that you can’t come in my world and not get hurt — pic.twitter.com/ukVC9mxPQu

At the end of the day, it may not matter to the fight community what went on with regards to stopping Fury from fighting Paul but with the ever-mounting evidence that the YouTuber is tying his opponent’s hand behind their back with contractual stipulations, the need for transparency surrounding anything to do with the 24-year-old is absolutely crucial now.
Indeed, boxing is a sport that relies heavily on its reputation but the influx of YouTubers and reality TV stars-turned-boxers over 2021 has muddied the waters with regards to subplots and genuine bad blood. Fans deserve better than to be taken for a ride and that’s why Tommy Fury needs to shed some proper light on why he won’t be in Las Vegas to fight Jake Paul.
