WBC Releases List Of Boxers Taken Out Of Rankings For Not Signing On To Clean Boxing Program
In the wake of Canelo Alvarez‘s positive drug test and the WBC defending the Mexican superstar, the governing body has released an extensive list of boxers who have been removed from their official ratings for not being a part of its Clean Boxing Program.
The Clean Boxing Program is a special partnership formed between the WBC and VADA in order to make sure the sport of boxing is as clean and drug-free as possible. For fighters wanting to be ranked in the WBC’s official rankings, they must be enrolled in the Clean Boxing Program within three months of being ranked in the top 15.
As such, a number of boxers have been taken out of the WBC rankings for failing to enroll in the Clean Boxing Program. The governing body released on its official website a complete list of fighters who have been taken out of the rankings, which can be seen below. Fighters who have an asterisk next to their name are fighters previously taken out of the rankings for not signing on to the Clean Boxing Program at some point, but has since then been enrolled and put back into the rankings.
