Vladimir Shishkin vs. DeAndre Ware To Headline ShoBox Card On August 23

Russian prospect Vladimir Shishkin will make his U.S. pro debut next month in the main event of a Showtime-televised card in Oklahoma.

The network announced that Shishkin will take on DeAndre Ware on August 23 at Main Street in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. The fight will headline a ShoBox: The New Generation card with the undercard yet to be fully revealed.

This will be Shishkin’s first fight in the United States after spending the majority of his young pro career in Russia. In just eight fights, not only has Shishkin already picked up a pair of regional titles, but also stopped former light heavyweight title challenger Nadjib Mohammedi back in October 2018 to retain the WBA Continental super middleweight title.

Sporting an 8-0 record and five knockout wins, Shishkin is already ranked No. 13 by the WBC and No. 15 by the WBA at 168 pounds. As an amateur, Shishkin won more than 300 bouts.

After losing an eight-round decision to Cem Kilic last year, snapping a 14-fight unbeaten streak, Ware has since then bounced back with a competitive majority decision win against Ronald Ellis this past February. Ware captured the NABA-USA and WBC Continental Americas titles while also handing Ellis his first pro defeat in a fight that also headlined a ShoBox card. Ware also handed 2012 Olympian Enrique Collazo his first pro loss when the two met in the ring back in June 2018.
