Tyson Fury vs. Tom Schwarz Prelim Card Averages 493,000 Viewers On ESPN2

The prelim card for Tyson Fury‘s Top Rank debut provided some fairly solid numbers on ESPN2.

According to Showbuzz Daily, the June 15 Top Rank card on ESPN2 that led to the ESPN+ main card averaged 493,000 viewers, with 143,000 viewers coming from the 18-49 demographic. The card also drew a 0.32 household rating and a 0.11 rating in the 18-49 demo, good for 65th on cable for the day.

The last time a live boxing card was on ESPN2 was April 20 for the Terence Crawford vs. Amir Khan prelims. That card averaged 291,000 viewers and drew a 0.06 rating in the 18-49 demo. By comparison, the June 15 ESPN2 drew more viewers than most PBC on FS1 cards this year except for the January 13 card and two Top Rank cards that were televised on ESPN: the March 23 and May 4 cards.

The June 15 prelim card was headlined by a 10-round women’s super featherweight bout between unbeaten rising star Mikaela Mayer and former world title challenger Lizbeth Crespo. The prelim card also saw Albert Bell defeat Andy Vences to capture the WBC Continental Americas super featherweight title and Isaac Lowe beating Duarn Vue by unanimous decision to retain the WBC International featherweight title.

As for the main card on ESPN+, Jesse Hart won a 10-round fight against Sullivan Barrera in Hart’s light heavyweight debut while Tyson Fury stopped Tom Schwarz in just two rounds. Top Rank’s next boxing card televised on ESPN will take place on June 28, headlined by Richard Commey vs. Raymundo Beltran for the IBF lightweight title.
