Top Undefeated Super Bantamweight Prospects To Headline June ESPN Card

A pair of undefeated super bantamweights will headline an ESPN card later in the summer with the winner taking another step onwards to challenge for a world title.

Randy Caballero and Oscar Negrete will fight each other in a 10-round bout and it will be shown on both ESPN2 and ESPN Deportes channels, according to Golden Boy Promotions and will take place on June 30 in California.

Caballero recently moved up to super bantamweight after briefly winning the IBF bantamweight title in 2014. Caballero recently won the vacant NABF super bantamweight title in his last fight when he defeated Jesus Ruiz via unanimous decision back in March.

Negrete turned pro in 2013 and has won all 17 of his fights, having won his lone fight in 2017 on May 5 against Victor Ruiz. The fight between Caballero and Negrete will be for Caballero’s NABF title.

The co-feature fight of the card has WBC Youth Silver super featherweight titleholder Lamont Roach defend his title against an opponent that is yet to be determined. Other fights on the card include undefeated prospect Genaro Gamez fighting Miguel Barajas and Ryan Martin, who is coming off a knockout win on the undercard of the Gennady Golovkin vs. Daniel Jacobs pay-per-view, going up against an opponent yet to be named.

The super bantamweight world champion class features Jessie Magdaleno (WBO), Yukinori Oguni (IBF), Guillermo Rigondeaux (WBA) and Rey Vargas (WBC).
