Terence Crawford vs. Amir Khan Prelims Average 291,000 Viewers On ESPN2

Viewership numbers for the prelim card of the Terence Crawford vs. Amir Khan event are in.

Per Showbuzz Daily, the three-hour prelim card, which featured four fights on the ESPN2 telecast, averaged 291,000 viewers. In the 18-49 demographic, the card drew a 0.06 rating, good for 131st on cable for the entire day.

The prelim card had to compete with the NBA Playoffs on both ESPN and TNT as well as a PBC on Fox card from Carson, California that started at 8 p.m. ET. The PBC on Fox card, headlined by Danny Garcia vs. Adrian Granados, averaged more than a million viewers for the entire telecast.

The prelim card was headlined by an NABF and NABO junior middleweight title bout between Carlos Adames and Frank Galarza. Adames quickly dispatched Galarza, stopping him in the fourth round to walk away with the two titles. Also on the card were fights featuring prospects Edgar Berlanga, Larry Fryers and Vikas Krishan in separate bouts. The opening fight of the prelims, Lawrence Newton vs. Jonathan Garza, was not featured on the telecast.

The prelim card served as the lead-in to the Crawford vs. Khan pay-per-view show at Madison Square Garden. Crawford beat Khan in the main event by TKO after an accidental low blow in the sixth round ended the fight.

The next Top Rank on ESPN telecast will take place on May 4 from Stockton, California. In the main event, Artur Beterbiev defends his IBF light heavyweight title against Radivoje Kalajdzic and Jerwin Ancajas defends his IBF super flyweight title against Ryuichi Funai.
