Sebastian Fundora To Headline June 21 ShoBox Card
One of boxing’s more unique prospects is set to headline a Showtime-televised card on June 21.
Undefeated junior middleweight Sebastian Fundora, who measures at an astonishing 6’6″, will face Hector Zepeda in the main event of a ShoBox: The New Generation card from the WinnaVegas Casino in Sloan, Iowa. The fight headlines a tripleheader of fights where all six competitors on the televised portion of the card are undefeated.
Fundora, often billed as the tallest junior middleweight prospect in boxing history, won eight of his 12 fights by way of knockout. This will be Fundora’s second fight in 2019 with the first one being a third-round KO win against previously unbeaten prospect Donnie Marshall on a nationally-televised fight.
Zepeda has won all 17 of his pro bouts since making his debut in 2014. The 21-year-old Zepeda has fought six times since the start of 2018 with two of those wins coming from inside the distance.
In the co-feature, Dominican prospect Michel Rivera will face Rene Tellez Giron in an eight-round lightweight bout. Rivera has knocked out 10 of his 15 opponents and is coming off a second-round stoppage win over Carlos Daniel Cordoba in January. Giron won the WBC Youth Silver junior welterweight title in late 2018 and last fought in December when he stopped Mario Enrique Martinez inside two rounds.
In the telecast opener, 21-fight winner and Argentina national super featherweight champion Jose Romero will face former WBA Fedebol lightweight titleholder Yeis Solano, also in an eight-round fight at 135 pounds.
