Rocky Marciano Jr. Says Mayweather Doesn’t Deserve Win #50 In Super Fight
Rocky Marciano Jr. Is the son of the legendary boxer Rocky Marciano, who died almost 50 years ago in a plane crash.
When it comes to a potential Floyd Mayweather win in the super fight this Saturday Night, it is a win that Marciano Jr. says shouldn’t count as #50.
“No matter what happens, I don’t think it should go towards Mayweather’s professional career (record), win or lose,” Marciano Jr. told USA TODAY Sports. “This fight to me isn’t a true boxing match.”
The legendary Marciano Sr. Got a record of 49-0-0 as a professional boxer, but he retired before getting that coveted 50th win.
As far as the actual super fight goes, it’s a bout that Marciano Jr. isn’t really interested in.
“It’s not a fight that I’m interested in,” he said. “I see the interest in it, but I don’t think it’ll be an interesting fight.”
Conor McGregor versus Floyd Mayweather takes place on Saturday, August 26 from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
