Richard Riakporhe vs. Jack Massey To Headline JD NXTGEN Show In December; Several Fights Announced
Richard Riakporhe and Jack Massey will get their chance to win the vacant BBBofC British cruiserweight title in December.
Matchroom Boxing announced that Riakporhe and Massey will fight for the title in the main event of a JD NXTGEN card on December 19. The card, which will be shown on DAZN in the United States and Sky Sports in the United Kingdom, will take place at York Hall in London.
Riakporhe is only competing in his 11th pro bout, but has already emerged as a rising contender in the cruiserweight division, coming into the fight ranked No. 6 by the WBA. Riakporhe’s two fights this year saw him defend his WBA Intercontinental title with a TKO win over Tommy McCarthy and split decision win over Chris Billam-Smith.
Massey is also an unbeaten cruiserweight, but has not faced the same level of competition as Riakporhe has. Winning three of his last five fights inside the distance, Massey is coming off a six-round decision win against Kent Kauppinen back on March 30.
That’s not the only title fight that was announced. Also set for the show is Luther Clay and Freddy Kiwitt for the WBO Global welterweight title. Ever since he suffered an eight-round decision loss to Vazir Tamoyan in 2017, Clay has won seven straight bouts. Kiwitt is currently on a five-fight win streak after losing his only two pro bouts in 2016 and 2017, respectively.
Other bouts on the show is Fabio Wardley vs. Simon Vallily and Charles Frankham, Shannon Courtenay, Kieron Conway and Ivan Price competing in separate bouts.
