Richard Riakporhe vs. Chris Billam-Smith Added To Whyte vs. Rivas Undercard

Undefeated cruiserweight Richard Riakporhe’s next fight has been set as he continues to climb up the 200-pound rankings.

Riakporhe will face Chris Billam-Smith for the WBA Intercontinental cruiserweight title on July 20 as part of the undercard of the Matchroom Boxing card taking place at the O2 in London. The card will be streamed on DAZN in the United States.

The 29-year-old Riakporhe has won all nine of his fights since making his debut back in 2016. After going the distance in his pro debut, Riakporhe would go on to stop his next eight opponents, capturing the WBA Intercontinental title last November. Riakporhe, who currently sits at No. 10 in the WBA rankings, is coming off a fourth-round stoppage win over Tommy McCarthy back in March.

Billam-Smith is also an unbeaten prospect in the cruiserweight division, though his accolades aren’t as impressive as Riakporhe’s. Out of Billam-Smith’s eight wins, three of those came from opponents who had a winning record entering their respective fights, but does own a win over former Commonwealth title challenger Robin Dupre. Billam-Smith, who is trained by Shane McGuigan, has stopped seven of his eight opponents.

The fight will be on the undercard of the Dillian Whyte vs. Oscar Rivas heavyweight matchup, which is scheduled to be the main event. Also announced for the undercard is a fight between rising heavyweight star Dave Allen and former British champion David Price.
