Richard Commey vs. Raymundo Beltran Averages 490,000 Viewers On ESPN

The viewership and ratings are in for Richard Commey’s latest fight on ESPN.

The June 28 Top Rank on ESPN card averaged 490,000 viewers and drew a 0.15 rating in the 18-49 demographic, good for 28th on cable for the day. The card was headlined by a fight between Commey, the current IBF lightweight titleholder, and former champion Raymundo Beltran.

Commey stopped Beltran in the eighth round after dropping him four times. Commey was never in danger of losing his title in the ring as Beltran missed weight the day before. With the win, Commey will likely face the winner of an upcoming title eliminator between Teofimo Lopez and Masayoshi Nakatani in his next title defense, likely this year.

The fight between Lopez and Nakatani will take place on July 19 on an ESPN+ card from Maryland. The winner of a potential fight between Commey and his eventual mandatory challenger could potentially fight for the undisputed lightweight title against the winner of an upcoming bout between Vasiliy Lomachenko and Luke Campbell.

This was Commey’s second fight on ESPN this year with the first one taking place in early February. That fight saw Commey stop Isa Chaniev in the second round to become the new IBF champion and the ESPN-televised portion of the card averaged 880,000 viewers.

Top Rank’s next card televised on ESPN will take place at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. The main event of that card is a 10-round featherweight bout between Shakur Stevenson and Franklin Manzanilla.
