Report: Adrien Broner Arrested For Failing To Appear In Court

Four-division world champion Adrien Broner has gotten in trouble with the law over the holidays, according to TMZ Sports.

The outlet reported that Broner was arrested in Broward County, Florida after a warrant for his arrest was issued for failure to appear in court earlier this month. Broner was booked in county jail, but was then quickly released from jail.

The issue surrounding the matter goes back to last year when Broner was arrested for having no driver’s license, speeding, no registration or proof of insurance. Broner would not appear in court on a number of occasions since that arrest, leading to another arrest back in July for failure to appear.

The news come after TMZ Sports reported that Broner is being sued for more than a million dollars for not following through with a payment plan for multiple jewelry orders. Pristine Jewelers NY stated that Broner promised to pay $1.252 million and that he would pay following his fight against Jessie Vargas back in April.

Broner is scheduled to challenge for Manny Pacquiao’s WBA “regular” welterweight title on January 19, 2019 in a pay-per-view bout in Las Vegas. The card will headline a show that will feature a total of four title fights, including Badou Jack vs. Marcus Browne for the interim WBA light heavyweight title.
