Report: Adonis Stevenson Talking And Moving Extremities
Adonis Stevenson’s long road to recovery has gotten one step closer to becoming a reality.
One month after Stevenson suffered a serious brain injury in his fight against Adonis Stevenson, the former world champion has started to move a little bit and even spoke a few words. This comes after a report from Le Journal De Montreal quoting Stevenson’s girlfriend, Simone God, was recently released, sharing the good news regarding his condition. Doctors have also been able to close Stevenson’s tracheotomy hole.
The 41-year-old Stevenson recently woke from his medically-induced coma which he was in for weeks after being admitted to a hospital in Quebec City, Quebec, Canada. God previously said Stevenson has been able to enjoy the holidays listening to music and being surrounded by his family.
Stevenson’s injury occurred the night he lost his WBC light heavyweight title to Oleksandr Gvozdyk. Gvozdyk ended Stevenson’s long reign as the WBC and lineal champion at 175 pounds when Gvozdyk knocked out Stevenson in the 11th round of their fight.
A prior report from Mike Coppinger mentioned Stevenson collapsed in his locker room after the fight and nearly dropped out of the ring. Before collapsing, Stevenson appeared to have regained his senses and was able to talk to promoter Yvon Michel before heading to a shower. Once Stevenson left the shower, he started to feel dizzy and was having trouble standing up, later resulting in him being carried out in a stretcher and sent to the hospital.
