PBC Unveils Fox Sports 1 Card For April 13
Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) will be heading to Minneapolis for an FS1 card headlined Caleb Truax’s return to his home state on Minnesota.
The April 13 PBC on FS1 card from The Armory in Minneapolis has been unveiled, featuring Truax taking on former world champion Peter Quillin. In the co-main event, Sergiy Derevyanchenko will take on Jack Culcay in an IBF middleweight title eliminator.
Truax, a former IBF super middleweight champion, has not fought since getting a TKO win against Fabiano Soares this past August. It was Truax’s first fight since losing the IBF title to James DeGale last April in a rematch of their 2017 encounter that saw Truax shock the boxing world and defeat DeGale in the United Kingdom.
Quillin will be fighting for the third time since making the move up to super middleweight. Prior to the jump to 168 pounds, Quillin held the WBO middleweight title from 2012 to 2014 and sports a 34-1-1 record. Quillin, the No. 4 super middleweight in the IBF rankings, last fought in August when he defeated J’Leon Love by unanimous decision.
As for the middleweight title eliminator, the fight will have Derevyanchenko looking to get another shot at the IBF belt after coming up short back in October. In the main event of an HBO-televised card from Madison Square Garden last fall, Derevyanchenko lost a split decision to Daniel Jacobs for the vacant IBF title. The winner of this title eliminator will be the mandatory challenger to the winner of the WBA “Super,” WBC and IBF title unification bout between Jacobs and Canelo Alvarez on May 4.
In the opening bout of the telecast, undefeated prospect Chris Colbert will fight against an opponent to be announced at a later date.
