Nico Hernandez Joins BKFC, February 1 PBC On FS1 Undercard Revealed | Fight-Size Boxing Update

Here’s your fight-size boxing update for January 7, 2020:

– Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC) announced it has signed unbeaten boxing prospect and 2016 Olympic Bronze medalist Nico Hernandez (7-0) to a promotional deal. Hernandez’s BKFC debut will take place on Saturday, March 14.

– Michel Rivera will face Fidel Maldonado Jr. in a 10-round lightweight bout on the February 1 PBC on FS1 card. Also announced for the card is Omar Juarez vs. Angel Hernandez and Raymond Guajardo vs. Clay Collard.

– The rematch between Anthony Joshua and Andy Ruiz Jr. from December was the most-watched sporting event on DAZN, according to the streaming service.

– Speaking of that PBC on FS1 card, there will be a prelim card for the February 1 PBC on FS1 show and here the fights set for that portion of the event:

  • Jesus Ramos vs. Bernard Lebron Figueroa
  • Jose Miguel Borrego vs. Jimmy Williams

– A look at the backstory beef between Jesse Hart and Joe Smith Jr. as they fight in a light heavyweight bout. 

– Former lightweight champion Jorge Linares will face Carlos Morales in the co-main event of the February 14 Golden Boy Promotions on DAZN card from the Honda Center in Anaheim, California. The card is headlined by Ryan Garcia vs. Francisco Fonseca.

– Unbeaten boxer Joey Spencer was named PBC’s Prospect of the Year. Other fighters that were nominated were Efe Ajagba, Rolando Romero, Chris Colbert and Lindolfo Delgado.

– Danny Dignum will take on Alfredo Meli at the Brentwood Centre on March 7 as part of an MTK Fight Night card that will be streamed on ESPN+.
