Naoya Inoue-Stephen Fulton Scheduled For Spring Showdown In Japan

Former undisputed bantamweight champion, Naoya Inoue, is set to move up in weight and challenge current unified junior featherweight champ, Stephen Fulton this spring in Japan.

ESPN’s Mike Coppinger was the first to report the news that Inoue and Fulton had agreed to terms on a deal to face one another potentially in May. The bout will be contested at 122 pounds for Fulton’s WBC and WBO junior featherweight titles, with Inoue seeking to become a champion in a fourth weight class.

Inoue is currently undefeated as a pro, sitting at 24-0, and is coming off an eleventh-round KO victory over Paul Butler, last month in Tokyo to become the undisputed king at 118 pounds. Fulton on the other hand is also undefeated as a pro, sporting a record of 21-0, and will look to build on a unanimous decision win over former unified junior featherweight champ, Daniel Roman, last June.
