More Than A Million Viewers Tuned In To Watch Jermell Charlo vs. Jorge Cota

More than a million viewers tuned in to watch Jermell Charlo’s impressive knockout win over Jorge Cota on FOX.

Charlo’s win over Cota headlined the June 23 PBC card from the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas with a WBC super bantamweight title eliminator also being part of the three-fight telecast. The hourly breakdown for the June 23 PBC on FOX card are as follows:

  • Hour 1 (7-8 p.m. ET/Prelim Card): 875,000 viewers
  • Hour 2 (8-9 p.m. ET/Main Card): 992,000 viewers
  • Hour 3 (9-10 p.m. ET/Main Card): 1.15 million viewers

On YouTube, highlights of the main event drew at least 50,000 viewers on the Premier Boxing Champions channel and more than 120,000 viewers on the PBC on FOX channel. The video of the knockout has been seen nearly 90,000 times on the PBC on FOX Twitter account.

Charlo first dropped Cota early in the third round, but when Cota got back up, Charlo would go on to immediately knock his opponent out seconds later with a left-right combination. Also on the card is Guillermo Rigondeaux beating Julio Ceja to become the new mandatory challenger to the WBC 122-pound title and Joey Spencer defeating Akeem Black to win his eighth pro bout.

PBC’s next card that will be televised on FOX will be the July 20 card from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas that will serve as the lead-in to the pay-per-view event headlined by Manny Pacquiao vs. Keith Thurman. The FOX-televised portion of the event will be headlined by the IBF super middleweight title bout between Caleb Plant and Mike Lee.
