Jose Uzcategui vs. Caleb Plant Draws Solid Ratings For FS1
Fox Sports 1’s first PBC card of 2019 was a major success thanks to a heavy marketing campaign and a world title fight in the main event.
The January 13 PBC on FS1 card, headlined by Jose Uzcategui vs. Caleb Plant for the IBF super middleweight title, averaged 761,000 viewers and drew a 0.50 household rating, according to Showbuzz Daily. The show also peaked at 986,000 viewers with the main event averaging 917,000 viewers.
In the 18-49 demographic, the show averaged 210,000 viewers and a 0.16 rating. The 0.16 rating is good for 44th on cable on that day. Below are the breakdown of the ratings in various different demographics for the whole broadcast:
• Overall 18-49 demo: 0.16
• Male 18-49 demo: 0.24
• Female 18-49 demo: 0.09
• Overall 18-34 demo: 0.12
• Male 12-34 demo: 0.14
• Female 12-34 demo: 0.07
• Overall 25-54 demo: 0.24
• Overall 50+ demo: 0.45
The main event featured Plant dominating the first half of the title fight, scoring two knockdowns in the first few rounds. Uzcategui bounced back to win several rounds in the second half of the fight, but Plant would eventually win the fight by unanimous decision, winning his first world title.
The show, which also had a prelim card, featured Brandon Figueroa winning a title eliminator for the WBA super bantamweight title and Guillermo Rigondeaux making his in-ring return for the first time since 2017.
