Jarrett Hurd vs. Julian Williams Averages 1.385 Million Viewers For Entire Fox Telecast
Jarrett Hurd vs. Julian Williams saw Fox perform well in the ratings compared to its last fight card.
The May 11 PBC on Fox card from Fairfax, Virginia averaged 1.385 million viewers and drew a 0.89 household rating. The card was headlined by Jarrett Hurd vs. Julian Williams for the unified WBA and IBF junior middleweight titles.
The viewership and ratings figures from the May 11 card saw an increase from Fox’s last boxing card which took place on April 20. The April 20 card, headlined by Danny Garcia vs. Adrian Granados, averaged 1.082 million viewers and drew a 0.71 rating. The May 11 show had to compete head-to-head with the NHL Playoffs which had the St. Louis Blues go up against the San Jose Sharks on NBC.
Hurd was dropped by Williams in the second round of their fight and Williams managed to outbox the now-former champion for the remainder of the fight to become the new unified titleholder. The loss ended Hurd’s reign as the unified champion which began in April 2018 when he defeated Erislandy Lara.
PBC will have several fight cards before its next event will be televised on Fox. The next PBC card will be televised on Showtime on May 18, headlined by Deontay Wilder vs. Dominic Breazeale for the WBC heavyweight title. The next Fox-televised card will take place on June 23 from Las Vegas with the event being headlined by the WBC junior middleweight title rematch between Tony Harrison and Jermell Charlo.
