ITV And PBC Agree To Three-Year Broadcasting Deal

Boxing fans in the United Kingdom will have a way to watch Premier Boxing Champions shows.

U.K. broadcaster ITV have agreed to a three-year deal with PBC to broadcast a minimum of 15 boxing shows per year to various ITV channels. The deal will include free-to-air broadcasts on ITV’s channels, including the ITV main channel, ITV4 and ITV Hub, and will also include pay-per-views on ITV’s PPV channel, ITV Box Office. The deal will allow ITV to televise cards taking place in the United States and in the United Kingdom.

“This unprecedented deal between PBC and ITV is great news for boxing fans in the UK. We look forward to bringing viewers big events and superb action from some of the world’s best fighters in the coming years,” Niall Sloane, ITV Director of Sport, said in a press release sent to Fightful.

Although no fights have been announced for ITV’s 2019 schedule, PBC already has a number of cards in the U.S. for the first few months of 2019 that could also be shown on ITV. Those cards, which include the likes of welterweight champions Keith Thurman, Shawn Porter and Errol Spence Jr., as well as featherweight champion Leo Santa Cruz, are being aired either on FOX, FS1 or on pay-per-view in the United States.

While no U.K. shows have yet to be announced, PBC does have a U.K. presence on its roster, notably Carl Frampton, James DeGale and Joe Joyce, all who have fought in PBC cards within the last couple of years. Further announcements on the first PBC shows that will be available to viewers on the ITV platforms will follow in the days to come.
