Gilberto Ramirez vs. Jesse Hart 2 Set For December On ESPN+

Jesse Hart is getting another shot at the WBO super middleweight world title before the end of the year.

Top Rank officially announced Gilberto Ramirez will defend his WBO 168-pound title against Hart. The fight will take place at the American Bank Center in Corpus Christi, Texas and it will headline a boxing card streamed only on ESPN+ on December 14.

The fight is a rematch from their 2017 encounter which took place on a Top Rank card televised on ESPN. Ramirez came out victorious with a narrow unanimous decision (115-112, 115-112, 114-113) thanks to a second-round knockdown.

Since that loss, Hart has won all three of his following fights, all of which ended by stoppage. Hart picked up the NABF 168-pound title back in April and with his most recent win, a stoppage win over Mike Gavronski on ESPN in August, Hart is back as the No. 1 super middleweight in the official WBO rankings.

Ramirez has been making easy work of his opposition since that close victory over Hart. Ramirez already successfully defended his title on ESPN twice in 2018, making it five total defenses since winning the belt back in 2016. The first defense was against Habib Ahmed which ended with a fifth-round stoppage victory and then a wide unanimous decision against Roamer Alexis Angulo in the main event of an ESPN card back in June.

The main card, which will feature the super middleweight title fight and a soon-to-be-announced co-main event, will be on ESPN+ starting at 10 p.m. ET.
