FS1 To Televise Prelim Card For June 23 PBC On Fox Card
PBC is set to air a prelim card on FS1 that will serve as the lead-in to the Fox card taking place on June 23 in Las Vegas.
Two fights are set to be televised on FS1 featuring a couple of unbeaten prospects. The first one is a lightweight matchup between Chris Colbert and Alberto Mercado scheduled for eight or 10 rounds and the second one being a four-round welterweight fight between Jesus Ramos and Rondale Hubbert.
Colbert has won all 11 of his pro bouts with four of those wins coming by knockout or stoppage. Colbert’s last time out in the ring saw him defeat Mario Briones in second round on a fight televised on FS1 in April. Mercado has fought professionally since 2009, winning a number of regional titles throughout his career and facing the likes of Jayson Velez, Braulio Rodriguez and Lamont Roach Jr. Mercado has not fought since winning an eight-round decision against Sergio Lopez to walk away as the WBC Latino Silver super featherweight titleholder back in March.
Ramos is only 18 years old but has already fought nine times in the span of 11 months to start out his pro career. Ramos has won all nine of his fights in two rounds or less. Hubbert will be fighting for the fourth time in 2019, sporting a 1-1-1 record in his last three fights. The 30-year-old Hubbert is coming off a six-round decision loss to Dewone Johnson in April.
The main card will be headlined by former WBC junior middleweight champion Jermell Charlo taking on middleweight veteran Jorge Cota. As for the rest of the main card, the co-main event is a WBC super bantamweight title eliminator between Guillermo Rigondeaux and Julio Ceja while the opening bout of the Fox-telecast features unbeaten prospect Joey Spencer facing Akeem Black in a six-round junior middleweight bout.
