Floyd Mayweather Discusses Who He Wants In Undercard Of Potential Fight With Conor McGregor
If Floyd Mayweather fights Conor McGregor, he wants his fighters to be a part of the undercard.
Mayweather said over the weekend in England he would love to have Gervonta Davis and Badou Jack, both boxers represented by Mayweather Promotions, to be a part of the undercard for a possible McGregor vs. Mayweather fight, should it happen.
“If me and Conor McGregor get in the ring, and I believe it will happen, I’d love to have Gervonta Davis on the undercard. I would also like Badou Jack to be on the undercard,” Mayweather said.
Davis knocked out Liam Walsh in three rounds back on May 20 to retain his IBF welterweight title. Jack last fought on January, headlining a Barclays Center card that included Davis winning the IBF belt. Jack fought James DeGale in a super middleweight unification bout to a draw. Jack, not happy with the judging in that fight, said he would be moving up to the light heavyweight division, but has yet to fight since the draw.
Jack had already tweeted his approval of being in the proposed undercard.
Mayweather is currently handling Mayweather Promotions and its fighters, including Davis and Jack, but could make a return to the boxing ring against McGregor, the current UFC lightweight champion. McGregor had already signed the fight contract, but Mayweather has yet to finalize his part of the deal to make the dream fight official.
