– 19-year-old Japanese prospect Ginjiro Shigeoka is already a regional champion just four fights into his career. Shigeoka knocked out Clyde Azarcon earlier today at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, capturing the WBO Asia Pacific minimumweight title with a 72-second win. The card also featured Hironori Mishiro defeat Ryo Tanenaka to retain the OPBF super featherweight title.

In an interview with Fino Boxing, Eddie Hearn revealed that he is looking to bring a WBC lightweight title eliminator between Devin Haney and Zaur Abdullaev for September 14 on DAZN given how Canelo Alvarez’s planned fight date was postponed.

– British promoter Frank Warren wrote a column talking about Dillian Whyte’s reported failed drug test, which can be seen at this link.

– Rising bantamweight prospect Duke Micah has brought on Keith Connolly and Michael Amoo as his co-managers. In addition to that, Micah has aligned himself with Premier Boxing Champions with his next fight taking place either in August or in September.

– Evan Holyfield, son of former undisputed heavyweight champion Evander Holyfield, announced that he will sign with Main Events to start out his pro career. The 21-year-old will start out at 154 pounds.
