Fight-size Boxing Update: Canelo-Jacobs Purses, Ring Magazine Title Added To Rodriguez vs. Inoue

– Per Dan Rafael of ESPN, below are the purses for several of the fighters that are competing on tonight’s DAZN card from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The card will be headlined by Canelo Alvarez vs. Daniel Jacobs for the unified WBA, WBC and IBF middleweight titles. As a reminder, Fightful will have live coverage of the entire card.

  • Canelo Alvarez: $35 million
  • Daniel Jacobs: $2.5 million (Jacobs will end up making more than $10 million due to his contract with DAZN)
  • Vergil Ortiz Jr.: $75,000
  • Mauricio Herrera: $75,000
  • Joseph Diaz Jr.: $100,000
  • Freddy Fonseca: $10,000
  • Lamont Roach Jr.: $75,000
  • Jonathan Oquendo: $50,000

– Ring Magazine announced that its vacant bantamweight title will be on the line when Emmanuel Rodriguez and Naoya Inoue fight on May 18. The fight is a World Boxing Super Series bantamweight semifinals with the IBF world title also up for grabs. Also on that card is the WBSS junior welterweight semifinal bout between IBF champion Ivan Baranchyk and Josh Taylor.

– Former welterweight and junior welterweight world champion Jose Antonio Rivera will have his 50th pro fight on June 14 against Travis Scott at the Palladium in Worcester, Massachusetts. This will be Rivera’s fourth fight in the last 10 years, but is currently riding a four-fight win streak.

– Fresh off his first pro loss, Kerman Lejarraga will return to the ring on June 8 in Bilbao, Spain when he takes on Luis Solis.
