Efe Ajagba vs. Ali Eren Demirezen Confirmed For Pacquiao vs. Thurman Card

A heavyweight matchup between two 2016 Olympians has been added to the July 20 PBC on Fox card leading into the Manny Pacquiao vs. Keith Thurman fight on pay-per-view.

PBC announced that unbeaten boxers Efe Ajagba and Ali Eren Demirezen will fight in a 10-round bout and serve as the co-feature to the Fox-televised card from Las Vegas. The PBC on Fox portion of the card will be headlined by the IBF super middleweight title bout between Caleb Plant and Mike Lee.

Ajagba represented Nigeria in the 2016 Olympics, advancing all the way to the quarterfinals. Since then, Ajagba would go on to make his pro debut in 2017 and has won all 10 of his pro bouts with nine of them ending by knockout. The one lone fight not ending in a knockout was the infamous one-second disqualification win over Curtis Harper last year that saw Harper walk out of the ring as soon as the fight started. The 25-year-old Nigerian is coming off a second-round stoppage win over Michael Wallisch back on April 27.

Demirezen also advanced to the quarterfinals of the 2016 Olympics when he represented Turkey. Afterwards, Demirezen would go on to win all 11 of his fights in the paid ranks, winning the WBO European heavyweight title in March 2018. Demirezen last fought on April 6 when he defeated Adnan Redzovic.

The pay-per-view portion of the card will be headlined by Pacquiao vs. Thurman for the WBA welterweight title. No other fights has been officially confirmed by PBC for the main card, but it has been previously reported that a couple of welterweight fights involving the likes of Sergey Lipinets, John Molina Jr., Yordenis Ugas and Omar Figueroa Jr. facing each other would be on the pay-per-view.
