Eddie Hearn: Jarrell Miller’s Failed Drug Test Results “Makes Me Sick”

Eddie Hearn is not happy about Jarrell Miller’s multiple positive drug test results.

Hearn spoke with IFL TV to discuss the aftermath of Miller failing several drug tests, forcing the New York State Athletic Commission to deny him a boxing license for a fight against Anthony Joshua on June 1. Miller, who tested positive for the banned substances GW1516, HGH and EPO, saw his chance at winning three major heavyweight world titles go up in smokes.

The British promoter said it was “f—— unbelievable” hearing the news that Miller failed not one, not two, but three separate drug tests and that he is sickened seeing Miller use so many illegal drugs.

“It makes me sick, sick, that someone would go to those lengths in a fight. People have died in the ring, you know? This guy’s tried to get such an edge, and not just an edge of a little something. This is the whole hook. This is a man who was so possessed to get an edge over Anthony Joshua in a fight who knows what could’ve happened. Anthony Joshua could have been injured in the ring that night or something even worse. And all because the man weren’t big enough, weren’t brave enough, to do it right, to do it as a sport. He had to cheat. He had to try and cheat the system,” Hearn said.

Miller has since then commented twice on the matter. The first time, which took place after the first failed test, saw Miller deny knowingly take any banned substances, but after the two additional positive test results, Miller released a video admitting to making “a bad call.”

As of this writing, the event is still happening on June 1 at Madison Square Garden, but there has been no announcement on who will face Joshua next. The only other fight that has been announced for the card is Katie Taylor vs. Delfine Persoon for the undisputed WBA, WBC, WBO, IBF and Ring Magazine Female lightweight titles.

The full interview can be seen in the video above.
