Dillian Whyte vs. Dereck Chisora To Be Aired On Showtime In The United States
The British heavyweight showdown between Dillian Whyte and Dereck Chisora is coming to Showtime in the United States.
The network announced that it will air the rematch between the two heavyweight contenders live on December 22 starting at 5:30 p.m. ET. The news comes as a surprise as it was expected that DAZN, who has a broadcast deal with Matchroom Boxing to stream a select number of boxing shows from the United Kingdom in the United States.
The fight is a rematch from their 2016 classic that saw Whyte pull away with a split decision victory. The rematch may not be for a title, but as unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua still does not have an opponent for his next fight, it’s possible that the winner of this fight could challenge for Joshua’s titles next.
Although Showtime will likely not air the rest of the card, there are several big fights taking place on the card, including a WBC flyweight world title bout. Below is the full card from the O2 Arena in London:
- Dillian Whyte vs. Dereck Chisora: Heavyweight bout
- Ryan Walsh vs. Reece Bellotti: BBBofC British Featherweight Title
- Cristofer Rosales vs. Charlie Edwards: WBC Flyweight Title
- Joshua Buatsi vs. Renold Quinlan: WBA International Light Heavyweight Title
- David Price vs. Tom Little: Heavyweight bout
- Linus Udofia vs. Pavol Garaj: Middleweight bout
- Fabio Wardley vs. Phil Williams: Heavyweight bout
While boxing fans in the United States can watch the fight for free on Showtime, boxing fans in the United Kingdom can buy the event on pay-per-view at SKY Box Office.
