Deontay Wilder, WBC React To News Of Tyson Fury Rematch Not Happening
The news of the rematch between Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury not happening next did not sit well with the current WBC heavyweight champion.
Wilder took to Twitter to reveal his displeasure over the rematch being called off before an official announcement could be made. The two were originally set to face each other later this year, but ever since Fury signed with Top Rank and ESPN, the fight was put it jeopardy as clashing promoters and networks would have not been able to come to terms on having a rematch done.

The WBC and its president Mauricio Sulaiman also took to Twitter to support its champion.
Give the man some credit. He fought Stiverne in his prime, Szpilka was a good rival, Ortiz is top class and he fought Fury with little negotiations.

The latest update regarding both fighters are that Fury will look to have a fight in the United States, possibly either in May or June, before moving forward with the rematch against Wilder. As for the undefeated WBC heavyweight titleholder, Wilder’s future is uncertain in terms of his next opponent. Top Rank is actively trying to get Wilder to agree to a multi-fight deal that would have Wilder’s next fight be shown on an ESPN platform to build up to the rematch, which would be an ESPN pay-per-view.
