Danny Garcia vs. Adrian Granados Fox Card Revealed For April 20

Danny Garcia’s return to the ring has been formally announced and is set to take place in Carson, California.

PBC announced that Garcia will face Adrian Granados on April 20 at the Dignity Health Sports Park and it will headline a PBC on Fox card. The fight will mark Garcia’s first fight since losing to Shawn Porter with the WBC welterweight title on the line last September.

Granados has won two straight after losing consecutive fights to Porter and Adrien Broner and a fight against Javier Fortuna ended in no contest. Granados sports a 20-6-2 pro record.

Also on the Fox card, set to start at 8 p.m. ET, is a heavyweight matchup between former world title challenger Andy Ruiz Jr. and Alexander Dimitrenko. Ruiz has won two straight since unsuccessfully challenging for the WBO title in 2016 while Dimitrenko’s last fight was a ninth-round TKO loss to Bryant Jennings last August.

The other fight announced is for the interim WBA super bantamweight title. Brandon Figueroa, the second-ranked fighter by the WBA at 122 pounds, will face fifth-ranked Yonfrez Parejo. This will be Figueroa’s second fight of 2019 as he fought in January when he knocked out Moises Flores in the third round. Parejo is a former interim bantamweight titleholder and recently fought in February when he knocked out journeyman Benjamin Mendoza in Costa Rica.

The current WBA champion is Daniel Roman, who is going to face IBF titleholder TJ Doheny in a title unification on April 26 on DAZN. Murodjon Akhmadaliev is the mandatory challenger to the WBA title and is next in line to face the Roman vs. Doheny winner per an announcement from the WBA.
