Daniel Dubois, Sunny Edwards Get Opponents For December 15 Card
Frank Warren’s Queensbury Promotions is returning to Essex, England for a boxing card before the end of the year.
The company announced it will have a card at the Brentwood Centre in Brentwood, Essex on December 15. The show will feature heavyweight prospect Daniel Dubois as well as rising super flyweight contender Sunny Edwards.
Dubois will fight former world title challenger Razvan Cojanu in what will be one of Dubois’ biggest challenges so far as a pro. Dubois will be fighting for the fourth time in 2018, having won the BBBofC English and Southern Area heavyweight title earlier this year. The unbeaten Dubois is coming off a points win over former title challenger Kevin Johnson.
Cojanu has yet to pick up a win in 2017 or in 2018 with his last one being a knockout victory over Zhiyu Wu back in 2016. Cojanu is in a two-fight losing streak, suffering defeats at the hands of former WBO champion Joseph Parker and most recently against Luis Ortiz.
As for Edwards’ fight, he will be fighting Junior Granados for the WBC International super flyweight title. Edwards is unbeaten as a pro and his last fight saw him defend his WBO European title with a unanimous decision win over Ryan Farrag. Granados last fought on November 2, stopping Roque Mex in a 12-round bout and ending a 29-month period of in-ring inactivity.
Another boxer that was previously announced for the card is former British welterweight titleholder Bradley Skeete. Skeete previously lost to Kerman Lejarraga with the EBU European title on the line back in April.
