Conor McGregor vs. Floyd Mayweather’s Fun Bets

The biggest combat sports bout in our generation is upon us. Heavy favorite Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather (49-1) is to take on UFC superstar Conor ‘The Notorious’ McGregor (0-0) on Saturday night. And if you’re looking to have some extra fun while watching the bout, you’ve come to the right place.

Mayweather is currently listed at at -450 to win the tilt, while McGregor is the significant underdog at +325. Looking at these odds, and if you want some return on your investment, Floyd is not likely the party you would invest in. It’s Conor’s big number here (and more to follow) you’d likely want to drop some spare change on.

Looking up and down the list of fun bets for this bout, we have a plethora of options to choose from. But all of us have different mindsets heading into this mega-fight, so it’s what you deem valuable as you look into your figurative crystal ball to predict the future.

If you are of the adage that Floyd will be Floyd, and he will be patient, cruising his way to a unanimous judges decision, you can likely be safe at +325. Doesn’t seem like much, but if there was ever a safe bet in this scrap, that’s the one right there.

But Floyd did say going to a decision vs. Conor would pretty much be unacceptable. So if you believe him and think he will pick up the pace and go for the knockout, your wager will be multiplied by +450.

Now, with that being said, those of us in the MMA world know all too well that ‘Mystic Mac’ is a peculiar yet somehow real character. Often times, when he predicts something, it comes true. It’s eery to be honest, but if he’s right with his original prediction that he will win inside four rounds, you can get Rounds 1, 2, 3 and 4 (each) at +1400. #FunBetAlert.

Perhaps the boxing / mma / combat sports analyst in you looks at ‘Mystic Mac’s’ prediction as a tad unrealistic but do respect the man has some serious power in that left hand. So serious that if he does tag Mayweather, it could be lights out at anytime. If you buy that notion and believe Conor McGregor will shock the world with a knockout of Floyd Mayweather, you can pony up and get +400 on your money.

We all know Conor has the youth advantage in this fight, but that gives way to Floyd’s experience. Mind you, young men sometimes have endless cardio, while the older fighters often pace themselves. Could we potentially see Conor out work and out pace Floyd for at least seven of the twelve rounds, stealing a decision? Why not? Crazier things have happened and if you think it will go down like that … hold your breath … it’s a whopping +3300 for Conor McGregor to win a unanimous judges decision.

Oh yeah – remember when we first heard of this fight, there was all that talk that Conor might lose his mind and throw an elbow, spinning back kick, high kick, etc, getting himself disqualified in the process? I sincerely doubt that will happen, but that doesn’t mean multiple fouls, perhaps not breaking properly when they are clinched as an example, could see Conor getting his fair share of warnings. Should he get disqualified, whether intentional or not, you can get that fun bet of Mayweather winning due to disqualification at +800.

In closing, many have you may have already come across the story that this fight is a potential work. Yes, the conspiracy theorists have already jumped ahead of the curve on this one. There are those who believe there is a setup going down and that May/Mac is has already been scripted and will end in a ‘no-contest’. Can it be true? Do you believe it? Perhaps in a twist of irony, at the time of this writing, there are no props available online for a “no-contest”. Hmmm.
