Claressa Shields Wagers Big On Herself

After purchasing a house, creating a gym space, and gaining a massive following on social media, there is only one thing that Claressa Shields couldn’t do: fight. The turnout of the events back in 2020 could be attributed to the lockdown, halting Claressa’s Shield’s quest. Claressa had high hopes to be among the first fighters to compete after the pandemic continuing to build on the momentum she had established two years, where she was winning belt after belt and breaking through the mainstream ranks.

Punters can get the BetRivers promo code ahead of the event, getting the chance to wager on different games. This promo code is available for wagering different types of sports bets, including wagering on live events.

The talented boxer hoped to be in control of her career, and life in general. She was set to fight Marie Eve Dicaire this year, but she did not have the opportunity to show the a massive in-person fanbase. It was disheartening, dissatisfying, and disappointing. She’d had enough.

Shields and her manager, Mark Taffet, had to rethink things and come up with a solution. That solution was risky, but if it could succeed, the process could shoot Shield’s career upward and change women’s boxing’s general perception in the United States. She took that step instead of waiting for the others to provide the way. She would bring the card created to pay per view platform, where she’ll take on Dicaire. The event is scheduled to take place on Friday, May 9 at the Dort Financial Center in Flint, Michigan.

Shields’ fight in 2021 marks the beginning of what she believes will be the biggest stage for her career, as she is planning to participate in two sports, MMA and boxing. According to her, she is planning to fight five times throughout the year.

According to Shields, she decided to create her opportunity, and therefore create more for others. She acknowledged that she was not the only American girl on the bench this year, waiting for the boxing network to create opportunities for them. The chances given to the ladies in the boxing networks are significantly less compared to the ones provided to men.

In January 2020, Shields had defeated Ivanah Habazin in a unanimous decision, getting her tenth win in quick fashion. She plans on maintaining that high activity level.

According to her manager, Taffeta, there were clear indications that the fights could be rescheduled during the pandemic period. When the network announced the schedule of fights, her name was missing. She thought that she would fight September 26…. and then on October 3…then the news that came is that she would not fight at all. Since there was no agreement in place, the team movde on and developed a plan. Taffeta said that Shields’ team went to the other major boxing promotions and networks in the United States searching for a fight. Despite Shields’ status in boxing, her manager was informed that there was no room for her to fight.

Not anymore. Shields is back in business.
