Canelo Alvarez vs. Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. Final Betting Odds
Just one week after Anthony Joshua vs. Wladimir Klitschko, Mexico’s two biggest stars, Canelo Alvarez and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., are set to square off in a major fight tonight in front of a sold-out crowd with millions of ravenous boxing watching in this Cinco de Mayo weekend spectacle.
With the fight taking place in Las Vegas, there are different places all over trying to cash in on the monumental bout. Even though this is one of the biggest All-Mexico fights in boxing history, that doesn’t mean that places all over the world aren’t watching and betting on the fight. On Sky Bet in England, Canelo is the favorite to win at 1/8 odds while Chavez Jr. is at 9/2 odds and is the underdog in the fight.
The fight is expected to have a lot of fireworks in terms of punching power, opening up the possibility for an early knockout win. Sky Bet’s betting odds for a Canelo win within the first four rounds went from 9/2 odds to 11/2 odds, giving bettors a little more incentive for betting on an early night for the current WBO Middleweight Champion.
According to Bovada, Canelo sits comfortably as the favorite at -500. Chavez Jr. is coming into the fight a +350 underdog. For those that are not aware of betting lines, a -500 bet means that a bettor must bet $500 to win back $100 and a +350 bet means that a bettor wins $350 if he bets $100.
