Bryant Jennings vs. Alexander Dimitrenko To Headline Top Rank ESPN Card In August
Since Bryant Jennings took a 20-month break from boxing after suffering his first two losses, he has been on a win streak and will now compete in the main event of a Top Rank Boxing card in August as he continues to push for another heavyweight title shot.
Jennings will fight Alexander Dimitrenko for the vacant WBO International heavyweight title in the main event of the August 18 Top Rank Boxing on ESPN at the Ocean Resort Casino in Atlantic City.
The fight will be Jennings’ fifth since losing to then-unified heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko and then to Luis Ortiz. Jennings is on a four-fight win streak and is currently ranked No. 8 in the WBO heavyweight rankings. Jennings is coming off a unanimous decision win over Joey Dawjecko last April on a Top Rank on ESPN card in Philadelphia.
But Jennings won’t be the only Philadelphia native to compete on the ESPN card. NABF super middleweight champion Jesse Hart will defend his title against Mike Gavronski in the co-main event bout.
Hart is also on the comeback trail after also losing his first world title fight after losing a unanimous decision to WBO super middleweight champion GIlberto Ramirez last year. Since then, Hart got TKO victories over Thomas Awimbono and Demond Nicholson to win the NABF title. Hart is the No. 1 ranked contender on the WBO rankings at 168 lbs. As well as being ranked No. 3 in the WBC rankings.
Also scheduled to fight on the card are top prospect Shakur Stevenson, former title challenger Jason Diaz and WBC FECARBOX welterweight champion Thomas LaManna.
