Amir Khan vs. Phil Lo Greco To Be Streamed On ESPN+ Service
Amir Khan’s return to the ring will be the first of many boxing events that will be broadcast on ESPN’s new ESPN+ streaming service.
Khan’s April 21 bout against Phil Lo Greco, Khan’s first fight in almost 24 month will be shown on the service, which will launch on April 12. The fight will take place at the Echo Arena in Liverpool, England.
The new streaming service from the sports media giant won’t just show Khan’s next fight, but will also upcoming Top Rank Boxing fights, including undercards bouts and replays from past Top Rank Boxing on ESPN and pay-per-view boxing events. People interested in watching the fight can subscribe to ESPN+ for a monthly subscription of $4.99. ESPN+ will also give sports fans the ability to watch MLB, NHL, MLS, college football games and more.
The upcoming June 9 WBO welterweight title fight between Jeff Horn and Terence Crawford in Las Vegas is also planned to be broadcast on ESPN+. The fight was supposed to take place on April 14 at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas until Crawford suffered a hand injury, postponing the bout.
Khan, a former unified junior welterweight world champion, has not fought since getting knocked out by Canelo Alvarez in 2016 when Khan moved up in weight to challenge for the WBC middleweight world title. Khan has been out of the ring since then and almost had a fight against Manny Pacquiao last year, likely in the Middle East, but the fight never materialized.
