Amir Khan Talks Tony Bellew vs. David Haye

The fight between David Haye and Tony Bellew has British boxing fans talking, including countryman Amir Khan.

Khan recently talked to skysports.com and said Bellew, who is the WBC Cruiserweight champion, is out of his league for moving up to heavyweight and taking the fight against Haye.

“I think he’s maybe just tried to bite too much by going in the ring with a heavyweight,” Khan said. “I like Bellew. I think he’s a great fighter and a great champion. I think he should have stayed at his own weight category.”

In terms of picking a winner for this fight, Khan confidently picked Haye to come out on top, saying Haye is bigger, faster, and more experienced than Bellew.

“David has also got a lot of speed," Khan said. "I can’t see [Bellew] winning this fight. I am sorry to say that. David is much bigger and much stronger and has a little bit more experience going into that fight.”

Bellew will take on Haye, a former world heavyweight champion, on March 4 at the O2 Arena in London. Bellew delivered a quick performance back on October 15 in his first defense as the WBC Cruiserweight champion when he scored a TKO victory against BJ Flores in the third round. Bellew then walked towards Haye, who was attending the fight, and yelled at him "I'm the champion." The fight was announced a little more than a month later.
