Tony D’Angelo Made Don Of NXT, Fabian Aichner Walks Out On Marcel Barthel, And More | Fight Size


Here is your post-NXT fight size update for Tuesday, April 5, 2022.

– The show started with Bron Breakker celebrating his NXT Title win until he was interrupted by Gunther and Imperium. Gunther says Breakker can’t call himself the best until he steps in the ring with The Ring General. A Championship Match was agreed to for later in the night.

– Up next was a tag team match in which The Creed Brothers defeated Imperium after Fabian Aichner inexplicably walked away mid-match, leaving Marcel Barthel to fend for himself. The Italian was not seen for the rest of the night and no explanation was given for his walking out.

– After the match, The Creed Brothers were attacked by former NXT UK Tag Champions, Pretty Deadly. Click here to read more about their NXT 2.0 debut.

– Cameron Grimes’ North American Championship celebration was crashed by Solo Sikoa, who challenged Grimes to a title match. Solo said championships run in his bloodline and feels like he has earned the shot. Grimes said he admired Sikoa and agreed to the match, even shaking hands. The bout is set for next Tuesday.

– Dexter Lumis and Duke Hudson fought to a double-count out on tonight’s episode. The two have been feuding, along with their respective partners, Indi Hartwell and Persia Pirotta, over who is the hottest couple in NXT.

Mandy Rose prevented Wendy Choo from interfering in tonight’s Women’s Tag Title bout, allowing Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne to recapture the belts from Dakota Kai and Raquel Gonzalez.

– It is now official, Tony D’Angelo is the Don of NXT. After leaving the show, however, Tony was warned, “Keep your business out of Legado’s business, and everything is okay.”

– Nikkita Lyons defeated Lash Legend in singles competition.

– In the main event, Bron Breakker defeated Gunther to retain the NXT Championship. After the bell, Bron’s father, Rick Steiner appeared on the tron to congratulate him, but as the camera pulled away, it was revealed that Joe Gacy and Harland had kidnapped the WWE Hall of Famer. Steiner was bound and locked in a cage, to which Gacy said, ‘Let’s see if we can teach an old dog some new tricks.” Click here to learn more.
