Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Crowned At WrestleMania 38
One man now reigns atop WWE.
At WrestleMania 38, Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar faced off in a Winner Takes All Match for both the WWE and Universal Championships. Brock has been hunting The Bloodline the past few weeks, seeking retribution for their attack on him at Madison Square Garden.
Tonight’s match has been nearly six months in the making, as the rematch of their Crown Jewel encounter was supposed to happen at Day 1, but was canceled due to a positive COVID test from Reigns. The Winner Takes All stipulation came about thanks to Brock winning the Royal Rumble and then WWE Title at Elimination Chamber.
In the main event of WrestleMania 38, Roman Reigns defeated Brock Lesnar to become the Unified WWE Universal Champion. Both men hit their finishing moves a number of times, but it was a Spear that ultimately put Lesnar away. With his victory, Roman Reigns extends his record-setting 581-day reign as champion.
